Hello! I am Abigail Wiinamaki, but you can call me Abby. Currently, I’m embarking on an exciting journey as a student at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. I’m in my Junior year and anticipate graduating in May 2025. I am fueled by a passion for interior design that has been with me for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in Metro Detroit. My educational path began at Oakland Community College, where I spent two formative years, specializing in residential Interior Design,  before transferring to CCS. The journey through my studies has been marked by dedication to honing my craft and bringing unique design visions to life.

At the core of my creative spirit is an enduring love for art and the artistic process. Designing, drawing, and creating are not just skills I’ve developed; they’re part of who I am. I thrive on the endless possibilities that interior design offers, embracing the power to transform spaces into captivating and functional environments.

My design philosophy draws inspiration from the classic interiors and architectural marvels of the mid-century era. I’m fascinated by the timeless aesthetics of that period and how they continue to captivate our senses. I am also very inspired by nature and it’s beauty. I aim to infuse my designs with a refreshing, innovative twist. I believe that great design should strike a harmonious balance between the past and the future, resulting in spaces that are both nostalgic and forward-looking.

What truly drives me is the profound impact a well-designed space can have on people. I’m on a mission to craft environments that not only meet the practical needs of their users but also evoke an emotional response. I want my designs to make people smile, to stir a playful energy within them, and to reconnect them with the joy of their inner child. I aim to create surroundings have the power to influence our moods, creativity, and overall well-being.
